In Japan films published after 1953 are copyrighted until 70 years later from its publication. 1955+70=2025 This film "Gero no Kubi" published in 1955 is copyrighted until 2025. --miya (talk) 12:34, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Delete, but the reason given by Miya-san is not appropriate. According to common belief of the Japanese Copyright Law, one cut of film is not treated as cinematographic work but as photographic work. Copyright protection for the photographic work published in 1955 is expired (see Template:PD-Japan-oldphoto). However, this image seems to be captured from TV program. Unauthorized reproduction of received TV program image infringes the neighboring rights of the broadcasting organization (Article 98).
